  11. Changing cursors, dynamic sliders, etc. from a mostly user/sometime 
  12. programmer point of view:

  14. I think that forcing every programmer to do these things for eacc program 
  15. is a bad idea.  What we will end up with is every program doing them a 
  16. slightly different way and some programs not working on some setups, and 
  17. a general trend towards INconsistency in look & feel, which is the 
  18. opposite point of this group.  I think that implementing things should be 
  19. as close to what GEM offers as standard, and if a program wants to patch 
  20. out the routines and write something that affects the behaivor of all 
  21. programs in the same way, that is the way to add features.  Barring, of 
  22. course, newer versiobns of the OS that add the support.
